How installation works

1. Order and enter your VIN.
2. We check your VIN and email your activation files.
3. Connect your laptop to the car's OBD port with an ENET cable.
4. Run the installer and follow the on-screen steps.
5. Pair your Android phone — Android Auto is ready to use.

What you need

• ENET (OBD-to-Ethernet) cable — any standard ENET cable
• Laptop running Windows 10 or 11
• Battery charger or maintainer (recommended)
• Android phone with wireless Android Auto support (Android 11 or newer)
• A WiFi antenna fitted to the head unit — required for wireless Android Auto

Compatibility

Works with original BMW NBT EVO ID5 and ID6 head units. Compatibility depends on the installed head unit and its software version, not on the model or year — always check your VIN before buying.

A WiFi antenna is required. Wireless Android Auto uses the head unit's WiFi antenna. An NBT EVO ID5/ID6 without one cannot run it, even though the head unit itself is the right type.

Not compatible: CIC, NBT (non-EVO), NBT EVO ID4, ENTRYNAV2, iDrive 7/8, and any third-party or aftermarket head unit. Original BMW NBT EVO ID5/ID6 only.

Yes. Wireless Android Auto requires the head unit's WiFi antenna. Without it the activation cannot work.
